Trinamul minister Sadhan Pande hoped on Monday that Sheikh Hasina will come back to power in the forthcoming parliament elections in Bangladesh.
“She is a great leader and there is no regional problem that she and our leader chief minister Mamata Banerji cannot solve,” Sadhan Pande told a conference at Calcutta’s Park hotel.
The conference was organised jointly by the Bangladesh deputy high commission and the Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) to observe Bangladesh’s graduation from Least Developed Countries (LDC).
Mr Pande detailed the scope of greater economic cooperation between India and Bangladesh, especially with border states of India.
He said Bangladesh’s steady 7 percent plus GDP growth will also boost the economies of border Indian states with greater trade. ■
