Former chief justice of Bangladesh Surendra Kumar Sinha has taken a huge amount of money from Mir Mamun, brother of war criminal Mir Quasem Ali, Bangladesh media reports quoting intelligence sources indicate.

The payment was made in the chamber of an American dental surgeon who was treating Sinha’s wife this month.

Sinha has secretly met the family members of war criminal and BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and agreed to reduce his death sentence but could not do so because of media exposure

LOOKEAST has obtained pictures of that dental surgeon’s chamber from intelligence sources.

It is not however clear whether the dental surgeon was aware of this cash transfer or whether it was surreptitiously made in a staged meeting involving Mamun, media baron Abu Taher and Monir Haidet of the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) on the one hand and S K Sinha on the other.

This is where Sinha’s wife goes for dental surgery and this is where he received 50000 USD from Masum and Monir Haider of the Muslim Ummah of North America or MUNA

Sinha is already been investigated on 11 corruption charges by the Anti Corruption Commission or ACC, the most important being his failure to account for the transfer of 4 crores BD Taka in his account. Those who transferred the money have also been interrogated, the Dhaka based Dainik Janakantha said in a report.

It said Sinha has secretly met the family members of war criminal and BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and agreed to reduce his death sentence but could not do so because of media exposure.

LOOKEAST recently reported that Sinha has been in touch with anti Awami League politicians like Dr Kamal Hossain and Jamaat leaders who are funding his memoir to use it for triggering anti–government propaganda. ■
