THIS website is born out of an earlier project when we published a monthly magazine LOOKEAST between March 2010 and November 2010, but had to close it down for unsolicited circumstances.

In our fresh avatar, we are keen to spread our reach across India’s East and Northeast and of course, the volatile neighbourhood — a region that straddles across South and southeast Asia connecting China, India and the ASEAN which accounts for half the world’s population and has some powerful economies. Basing the coverage on nation—state boundaries would not make sense at a time when all nation—states in this region are bugged by the connectivity fever, despite territorial and strategic tensions.

This website www.lookeast.in will endeavour to cover this region as an integrated whole and try to shed light on major issues. It will also focus on quality analysis and special stories rather than daily news though readers will not miss major news developments of the region. ■
