The Summit aims at highlighting the state’s geostrategic advantages offered to investors by Assam. The event shall showcase the manufacturing prowess and the opportunities offered by the state in terms of export-oriented manufacturing and services to growing economies viz. ASEAN and BBN countries. As a precursor to the main Summit, the Government of Assam shall conduct roadshows at various locations in both domestic and international locations, to showcase the business potential and investment opportunities in the state. The Government delegates shall also meet the Industry champions for various discussions. The Summit promises to become a major platform for G2B, B2B meetings & display of investment opportunities in the state. FICCI which has been engaged as the Summit Partner, has been entrusted with the organising of the Summit with support from the state government. EY, has also been engaged as the Knowledge Partner for the Summit. Potential investors from diverse sectors are expected to attend 'Advantage Assam' – the Global Investor’s Summit 2018, for exploring investment opportunities in Assam – India’s Expressway to ASEAN.:

The Northeast is a natural partner in India’s ‘Act East Policy’, being our land bridge to Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the Act East Policy is a means to strengthen the stability, economy and prospects of our North Eastern region. The Act East Policy can significantly factor in ending the geographical isolation of India’s North Eastern Region and transforming it into a bridgehead for India to the booming ASEAN markets and its extended neighborhood. Given the economic potential as well as the geo-political importance of the region the North East Region lies at the core of India’s Act East Policy. The focus is now on economic development and addressing ‘trust deficit’. The opening up of the landlocked NER economically to ASEAN countries and extended neighbors is considered as a potent means of conflict transformation. The aspect of economic linkages should be explored and nurtured to further strengthen ties and contribute in the development of the North-East India.:
